PriceView is our latest feature for subscribers and provides an automated tool to request and enter pricing information for all products in your project folder.

Spec-ID respects the confidentiality of product pricing. For this reason, we have created a private portal for suppliers to submit pricing for a specific project only. The price request is initiated in an email with a link to the private portal only visible by the supplier and the Spec-ID user.

NAVIGATING PRICEVIEW

SETTING UP YOUR SALES REP:

Click the PRICE icon when in List View. This will take you to the PriceView page.

Step#1: Once on the PriceView page, click SALES REP in the top navigation to see all sales reps in the database. Search for your sales rep in the search field. You can search by name or company.

Step#2: When you find your sales rep, then check the far left box next to any sales reps you want to be included in Your Reps database. Your Reps are a sub-set of the entire database and only visible to you.

Step #3: Your Reps are now available to send a price request through email with Spec-ID.

Step #4: When you click on the STAR next to Your Reps, they become your “favorite” sales rep and are more easily identified with this designation. ★ Alice.

Step #5: If you cannot find your sales rep in the database, then click Create New and complete the appropriate fields to add a sales rep. Once they have been added, follow steps #2 - #4.

PROJECT EDITOR

EDIT (Product)

Once you click on Project Editor you can quickly execute the following:

  • Sales Rep: Select your Sales Rep for the product(s). Your “favorite” sales reps will have a star by their name, ★ Alice.

  • Quantity: Enter the quantity of the material needed (which may influence your price request).

  • Unit Price: If already known enter it here, otherwise leave blank. This is what you are asking your sales rep to complete.

  • Unit of Measure: Enter how you want the price quoted. For example; SY (square yards), Box, Palette, Piece, etc.

  • Freight: Normally left blank for your sales rep to quote. If you have comments on freight, “Quote delivered”, then put those in your NOTES* by individual product. *To see how to add product notes scroll down to EDIT (Product) or click HERE.

EDIT (Project)

Delivery Date: Create an expected delivery date for your material to arrive at your location or the job site. Once a date is entered it is applied to every product. *NOTE: You can create a unique delivery date for individual products - Click HERE.

Project Note: Add PROJECT notes about your project that will help your Sales Rep better understand your project. For example, “All products must be palletized and delivered to warehouse #3 in St. Paul.”

EDIT (Product)

Each product can be edited individually. This is especially helpful if you have added a new product to the project.

If you have not added information to a product with the Project Editor feature you can add the same information or make changes here (Including product notes).

Notes - This is a great feature where you can add individual notes for a product. For example, “Quote carpet exact with no overages”, or “Quote as a pick-up with local distributor”. These notes will help your Sales Rep when quoting prices.

Contact - Add or change your Sales Rep (contact).

Delivery Date - Add or change your delivery date.

Complete - When this box is checked, this product will no longer be sent out in an email to request pricing.

In PriceView you can request pricing for all products or an individual product.

All Products - The orange ‘Request Price’ button sends an email to the assigned Sales Rep with your company, your contact, project, and product information.

Individual Product - The Envelope just under the Sales Rep name allows you to send that Sales Rep an email for that product only. You can do this as often as needed. *Note: You can change the Sales Rep at any time.

Complete (slider) - ‘Complete’ is when the slider is orange and the product will no longer be sent in an email for pricing.

Incomplete (slider) - Incomplete’ is when the slider is grey and the product will be sent in emails for pricing.

Tracking - The platform will track the date of all price requests by product. *If a sales rep is changed the date tracking will not reset.

A confirmation note “Email Sent” will appear when a price request is complete.

When you refresh the screen or return to PriceView the date(s) the email was sent will appear.

EMAIL

Spec-ID sends an automated email to Your Rep with your contact information as well as project and product information, including information you have provided with Edit Project and Edit Product.

The first time Your Rep receives a price request via email from the Spec-ID platform, they may be curious to know what this email represents. Please be proactive by explaining to them that you now use an automated Spec-ID price request service to solicit pricing. The best option for them to respond is to click the ‘SUBMIT PRICING' button at the top of the email. This automatically updates your product information with their input through a private (firewall) portal.

Your Rep response options:

They have three options to respond to your price request:

Email - Your contact email is provided and they may click on your email address and contact you directly. *NOTE: They CANNOT respond directly to the email they receive since this is an automated email from the Spec-ID platform. This is email address IS NOT monitored.

Phone - Your contact phone is provided and they may call you directly.

Private Portal - ‘SUBMIT PRICING’ button/link. This is the preferred method for Your Rep to submit pricing. This portal is confidential and allows Your Rep to conveniently provide pricing information at any time, from anywhere, and on any device.

What Your Rep will see in their email:

  • Your company name: Pricing Request from [your company name]

  • Do not reply message: Do not reply to this message. This message was sent from a notification-only address that cannot accept incoming emails.

  • Instructions on how to use the SUBMIT PRICING link/button

  • My Information: Your contact information

  • Project Information: (Based on your input) Project Name, City, State, Architect, GC

  • Project Notes: Based on your input from Edit Project

  • Specified Products: Product information.

SUBMIT PRICING (Link)

What happens next?

When Your Rep clicks the “Submit Pricing” link, they will be taken to the Price Request Form to enter pricing information, read your product notes, and add their own comments.

Once Your Rep clicks SAVE, they receive a comfort message, “Your information has been processed.” Your product has now been updated with their information.

EXPORT Data Files

At any time you can export (download) your product data to a CSV file (save as an Excel file) that now includes pricing information. You may also select among several download options formatted to match partner estimating & takeoff software companies* to upload to their software platforms.

*Not all estimating/take-off software companies provide an application to upload pricing.

RETURN TO PROJECT

To return to your project in List View, simply click the ‘Return to List View:[project name]’. This will take you back to List View for the current project.

TRACK PROGRESS

PriceView allows you to keep track of your pricing progress by each project in one easy-to-view screen.

Click on PROJECTS in the navigation bar (top of the screen) and your projects that are in PriceView will be listed in a dashboard.

You can search projects by name and sort them alphabetically when you click on the column header ‘Name’.

How does it work? Every product in each project that is designated “complete”, by the ‘COMPLETE slider’, is divided by the total number of products in your project.

In the example below, the progress of the Spec-ID Demo project is 100% because each product has been designated “Complete”.
